Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI)

A visit to Terengganu would not be complete if you haven’t reached its Islamic Civilization Park or “Taman Tamadun Islam”. It was built on a 22.3 hector site of an uninhibited Pulau Wan Man, in the Terengganu River estuary. It showcases the glorious era of Islamic science and technology achievements, arts, architecture, engineering and heritage. Also interacting displays and activities that will inspires the mind and excite the senses of visitors.

It is the first Islamic edutainment theme park in the world, with its 21 replicas of famous mosques and Islamic monuments that replicate the grandeur of Islamic arts and architectures. Among the replicas are the Dome of Rock of Jurusalem, Taj Mahal of India, the Samarra Grand Mosque of Iraq, Masjidil Haram of Mecca, the Citadel of Aleppo of Syria and Alhambra Mosque from Spain and many more monuments from all over the world. The gleaming Crystal Mosque in the park is set to become one of the iconic destinations for Terengganu and Malaysia as well.

The idea for this park was initiated by the previous Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi ans the task to make the idea into a reality was been given to Terengganu State Economic Development Corporation (TSEDC). Among the objectives that lead to the opening of Taman Tamadun Islam were; to expose the glorious Islamic architecture,  to experience and inculcate the Islamic culture and way of life and to promote Pulau Wan Man as an intellectual centr if Islamic arts and civilization.. Taman Tamadun Islam is a priceless gift to the people of Terengganu and an invaluable contribution to the ummah and the mankind. Taman Tamadun Islam reflects Malaysia’s leading role in the Islamic world. In so doing, it provides a strong foundation in outreaching to the rest of the world.
 

Located in this park is also the Convention Center, which is considered the biggest convention hall in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It can accommodate 3000 participants at one time. With the existence of this hall, National and International level of events can be held at Taman Tamadun Islam and this will enhance the relationship between those who came to participate in any events.


This park is opened from 9.00 am – 7.00 pm on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and from 10.00 am - 7.00 pm on weekdays (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) with last ticket sales and admission is at 6.30 pm.  It is closed on Tuesday (Except during school holiday and public holiday).
